Top gainers of NIFTY
On the NSE Nifty, COALINDIA shares closed up 3.34 per cent, UPL up 2.16 per cent, ONGC 1.44 per cent, BPCL up 0.92 per cent, TATASTEEL up 0.86 per cent.
There was a break in these stocks on NIFTY
On the NSE Nifty, ADANIENT declined by 3.86 per cent, Asianpaint by 3.12 per cent, TATAMOTORS by 1.87 per cent, INDUSINDBK by 1.80 per cent and ADANIPORTS by 1.72 per cent.
Indian rupee weakened
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian rupee declined 11 paise to close at 81.35 against the US dollar as against its previous close of 81.24.
