Stock Market Update: The day was full of ups and downs, Sensex, Nifty closed down

In today’s business, both the Sensex and Nifty indices have closed weak. The Sensex has weakened by more than 300 points. The BSE Sensex climbed 334.98 points, or 0.55 percent, to close at the level of 60,506.90 points. Similarly, the Nifty closed at 17,764.60 points with a gain of 89.45 points, or 0.5 percent.
Selling has been seen in the domestic stock market amid mixed global cues. In today’s business, both the Sensex and Nifty indices have closed weak. The Sensex has weakened by more than 300 points. The BSE Sensex climbed 334.98 points, or 0.55 percent, to close at the level of 60,506.90 points. Similarly, the Nifty closed at 17,764.60 points with a gain of 89.45 points, or 0.5 percent. In sectoral indices, the metal remains under pressure as the sector closed down 2%. Energy and IT also had a bad day. Bank indices remained volatile but PSU Bank indices closed in the green along with Media and FMCG.
Top gainers of NIFTY
ADANIPORTS shares on NSE Nifty are up by 8.63 per cent, INDUSINDBK by 2.49 per cent, BPCL by 2.19 per cent, APOLLOHOSP by 1.73 per cent, HEROMOTOCO by 1.69 per cent.
These stocks showed a break on NIFTY
On the NSE Nifty, DIVISLAB declined by 3.58 per cent, JSWSTEEL by 3.03 per cent, HINDALCO by 2.81 per cent, TATASTEEL by 2.62 per cent and INFY by 2.15 per cent.
Indian rupee gains
At the interbank foreign exchange market, the Indian rupee appreciated marginally by 0.90 paise to close at 82.74 against the US dollar as against its previous close of 81.84.
