M&M’s
Mahindra Bangladesh Pvt Ltd (MBPL), a wholly-owned unit of automobile company Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), has completely shut down its operations. M&M said in the statement that MBPL has called the last extraordinary general meeting of its shareholders on March 14, 2023 and approved the final voluntary winding up. It added that MBPL has been superseded and ceased to exist with effect from March 14, 2023.
Cipla
Pharma major Cipla and its subsidiaries, Cipla (EU), UK and Meditab Holdings, Mauritius, have entered into a share purchase agreement with Uganda-based Africa Capitalworks SSA3 for sale of 51.18% stake in Cipla Quality Chemical Industries (CQCIL). After the stake sale, CQCIL will cease to be a subsidiary of the company. The stake sale process is expected to be completed by May 2023 and will be considered in the range of $25-30 million.
RIL
The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Tuesday said it has approved the acquisition of German company Metro AG’s wholesale business in India by RIL’s retail arm Reliance Retail. Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL) is a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) while Metro AG’s Metro Cash & Carry India handles the wholesale business in India. In December last year, it was announced that RRVL had entered into agreements for 100 per cent stake in the company for Rs 2,850 crore.
Vedanta
Vedanta Aluminum has entered into a long-term agreement with Dalmia Cement to supply industrial waste like ‘fly ash’ and ‘spent potlining’ for manufacturing low carbon cement. Under this agreement, approximately 20 rakes of fly ash per month will be supplied from Vedanta’s large aluminum smelter at Jharsuguda, Odisha to Dalmia Cement’s manufacturing units in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Meghalaya and Assam for a period of 5 years.
TVS Motor Company
TVS Motor Company has received board approval for allotment of 12,500 non-convertible debentures of face value of Rs 1 lakh each for an amount of Rs 125 crore through private placement. The maturity date of these NCDs will be March 13, 2026.
