The stock market started flat today. The Sensex is trading at a level of 62,216.47 with a gain of about 188.57 points. At the same time, Nifty is trading at the level of 18,363.70 with a gain of 48.9 points.

Shares of TATAMOTORS, APOLLOHOSP, TECHM, EICHERMOT, INFY are in green color i.e. in growth, whereas shares of ADANIENT, CIPLA, DIVISLAB, ADANIPORTS, MARUTI are seen in red color i.e. weak. In today’s trade only Bank, Auto and Realty indices are in green on Nifty. While other indices including Metal, IT, are in red mark. Today i.e. 15 May 2023, some stocks are ready to show action in a volatile market. These stocks can remain in focus in the market today. HPCL
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation has registered a 79 per cent jump in net profit on a consolidated basis, increasing its profit to Rs 3,608.32 crore. The company had posted a profit of Rs 2,018.45 crore in the same quarter of the previous financial year.
Vedanta
The company approved $296 million of capex in Cairn Oil & Gas operations. In addition, Sonal Srivastava has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer effective June 1, 2023. At the same time, Naveen Agarwal has been appointed whole-time director from August 01, 2023 to July 31, 2028 and Priya Agarwal as non-executive director from May 17, 2023 to May 16, 2028.
Canara Bank
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) imposed a penalty of Rs 2.92 crore on Canara Bank for violation of various norms. The central bank probed Canara Bank in July 2020 and revealed that the bank failed to link floating rate retail loans and interest to MSMEs to an external benchmark.
DLF
Realty major DLF released its Q4FY23 results after market hours on Friday. The company’s March quarter net profit grew by 40 per cent to Rs 570 crore, as against Rs 405 crore in the year-ago period. The company’s revenue from operations was down 5.9 per cent at Rs 1,456.06 crore in Q4 FY23.
Rail Vikas Nigam
The Rail Vikas Nigam-SCC Infrastructure joint venture has received the letter of award for a project worth Rs 2,248.94 crore for planning, design and construction of main canal and structures in Rajasthan. RVNL holds 51 per cent stake in the joint venture.
