In today’s trade, both the Sensex and Nifty indices have strengthened. The Sensex was trading at 65001.41, down 282.85 points, or 0.44 per cent. On the other hand, Nifty was trading at 19270.30 level with a fall of 81.30 points i.e. 0.42 percent.

In today’s business, buying is seen in almost every sector. Most of the indices on Nifty including Bank, Financial, Auto, IT, Metal and Pharma are in the green. Maruti Suzuki
Wholesale sales of the country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) grew by two per cent year-on-year to 1,59,418 units in June. MSI had wholesaled 1,55,857 units in June 2022. The company said domestic sales of passenger vehicles last month grew by 8 per cent to 1,33,027 units as against 1,22,685 units in the same month last year. Sales of small cars like Alto and S-Presso declined marginally to 14,054 units from 14,442 units in June last year.
Paytm
One97 Communications Limited, the company that operates Paytm, has tied up with retail non-banking financial company (NBFC) Shriram Finance Limited to provide loan products and other financial services to customers. The company said in a statement issued that under this partnership, Shriram Finance’s products will be available on Paytm, which will also add loan facilities to the business of the digital platform and this will also lead to financial inclusion.
Tata Motors
Tata Motors’ total domestic sales grew by one per cent year-on-year to 80,383 units in June. The company had sold 79,606 vehicles in June 2022. Domestic passenger vehicle sales (including electronic vehicles) increased by 5 percent to 47,235 units as against 45,197 units in June 2022.
Bank of Baroda
State-owned Bank of Baroda (BoB) plans to sell up to 49 per cent stake in its credit card business arm – BOB Financial Solutions Limited. Presently BOB holds 100% ownership in the company. A senior bank official said BoB has issued a ‘request for proposal’ to rope in a strategic investor and the process is expected to be completed in a year.
SBI
State Bank of India announced the appointment of Kameswara Rao Kodwanti as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Kodwanti replaces Charanjit Surinder Singh Attra, who resigned from the post. The country’s largest bank told the stock exchanges that Kameswara Rao Kodvanti has been working with SBI since August 1991 and has experience in the areas of banking, foreign exchange, finance and accounting.
