Stock markets continue to rise, Sensex rises by 471 points in early trade

The domestic stock market continued to rise for the third consecutive session on Monday amid positive trends in global markets. BSE’s 30-share Sensex jumped 471.45 points to 64,835.23 in early trade. Nifty rose 126.75 points to 19,357.35.
Among Sensex companies, mainly shares of Larsen & Toubro, Axis Bank, Nestle, JSW Steel, IndusInd Bank and Mahindra & Mahindra were among the gainers. Shares of State Bank of India (SBI) and Tata Motors were in loss.
In Asian markets, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong were among the gainers. US markets closed on a positive note on Friday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 0.37 percent higher at $85.20 per barrel.
Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 12.43 crore on Friday. On Friday, BSE closed at 64,363.78, up 282.88 points or 0.44 per cent, while Nifty rose 97.35 points or 0.51 per cent at 19,230.60.
