Mumbai Police nabs thief who stole Arpita Khan’s earrings
Khar police has already arrested the person who stole diamond earrings from Arpita Khan Sharma’s house. The accused has been identified as Sandeep Hegde, a resident of Ambewadi slum in Vile Parle East. He used to work as a domestic staff (housekeeping) at Arpita Khan Sharma’s house. Arpita has said in her police complaint that her diamond earrings worth five lakhs were kept in a make-up tray and went missing. The incident took place on May 16 and the accused was arrested the same night.
what was the whole matter
A team consisting of PI Vinod Gaonkar, PSI Laxman Kakde, PSI Gawli and detection staff was formed under the leadership of Senior Inspector Mohan Mane of Khar Police to arrest the accused. Hegde was part of the staff along with 11 others and had been working at the high-rise for the last four months. After committing the theft, he had absconded without informing anyone.
The stolen property has been recovered from his house and Hegde has been sent to police custody. A case has been registered against him under IPC section 381 (theft by servant).
Arpita lives on 17th Road with her actor husband Aayush Sharma and two children Ayat and Ahil.
