Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s Gadar 2 became a super hit even before its release, advance booking can break Pathan’s record

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 is all set to release on August 11 along with OMG 2. The advance booking of the film is on and till 11 am on Sunday, the film sold around 45,000 tickets for the opening day alone. A report in Bollywood Hungama states that these 45,000 tickets were sold across three national chains PVR, INOX and Cinepolis. Furthermore, it added that the sale of advance booking tickets could reach over 2,00,000 tickets sold by Thursday night.

The report further claimed that the film is set to take the second biggest opening of the year after ‘Pathan’. It has been said in the media reports that the film can get a tremendous opening of 20-25 crores. Citing trade insiders, a report in DNA states that the film may earn ₹25 crore on its opening day, however, it may go beyond ₹30 crore.

The film will compete with Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG 2’ at the box office. Media reports have said that if the booking of OMG 2 is in the range of 50,000, then an opening of around ₹ 7 crore can be found.

Directed by Anil Sharma, Gadar stars Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma in lead roles. Before releasing the official teaser online, the makers of the film had linked the teaser with ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, which was re-released in theaters on 9 June.

Earlier on August 6, actors Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel and director Anil Sharma attended the musical night of ‘Gadar 2’ in Ghaziabad. Sunny shared glimpses of the event on Instagram. He captioned the post, “Tara Singh ka dil Dilliwalon ne jeet kiya! Thank you all for your love for Gadar 2, see you in cinemas on 11th August.”
