A session seminar on 3 pillars of sustainability was organized by South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry during the Industry Exhibition at Hall-A, Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre, Sarsana, Surat. In which former Chairman of National Green Tribunal Adarsh ​​Kumar Goyal and Member Secretary of Gujarat Pollution Control Board D.M. Thackeray guided the industrialists of Surat regarding industry, regulation and judiciary.

Chamber of Commerce President Ramesh Vaghasia welcomed everyone in the session. India has set a long-term target of reaching net-zero emissions by the year 2070, he said. India is making significant progress towards environmental and social governance.

Adarsh ​​Kumar Goyal, former chairman of the National Green Tribunal, said that along with industry, regulator and judiciary, the most important thing is people. It is important to provide a good and clean environment to the people, hence action will be taken against those who pollute the environment. He talked about making the industrialists aware of their patriotism. He said that human life is most important and its value should be understood by people and businessmen. Protection of environment is the responsibility of every citizen of India.

Gujarat Pollution Control Board member secretary D.M. Thakar informed the industrialists about the regulatory authority. He said that efforts are being made by the government to provide a good environment to industries and people. For this, various efforts are being made to curb and reduce carbon emissions. Standard Operating Procedures were developed and CETP implemented for industrialists and manufacturing units producing various products.

He gave detailed information to the industrialists about Rule 9 to reduce waste. He said that research is being done in this direction so that less waste is generated from the industry and better products can also be produced from that waste. The government is working on environmental activation and good technology is being developed for this.

Chamber of Commerce Vice President Vijay Mewawala thanked everyone present in the session. The then former president Himanshu Bodawala, regional president of Gujarat Pollution Control Board Dr. Jigyaben Ojha, president of South Gujarat Textile Processors Association Jitendra Vakharia and industrialists were present. Chamber’s Group Chairman Sanjay Ghaziwala presented the outline of the program. While 3-E Expo Chairman Vatsal Nayak conducted the session.
