Adani Foundation is continuously working for Shreshtha Bharat with the noble objective of Healthy India. Recently, Poshan Pakhwada was successfully organized in Narmada district of Gujarat. Under the nutrition project, various activities were conducted for women and children in 450 villages of the district.
More than 25000 people enthusiastically participated in the campaign to improve health by converting food behavior into medicine. The main objective of Poshan Pakhwada based on the theme of ‘Good nutrition for healthy India’ is to make more and more people aware.
Nutrition rally, group discussion, family counseling, demonstration of various dishes made from grains, health competition, healthy baby competition, nutrition garden, painting competition in school, quiz, health camp etc. in the programs organized under the fortnight related to the government’s ICDS scheme. Organized.
Special emphasis was laid on individual and community behavior change for a malnutrition free India. In which detailed information was given about preparation of nutritious dishes under Take Home Ration (THR), personal hygiene, child rearing and care, balanced and nutritious diet, measures to prevent malnutrition etc.
Since the year 2023 is being celebrated as the International Millet Year, Poshan Pakhwada plans to popularize whole grains more. In which about 2000 women are given Bajra, Jowar, Samo, Ragi and Kodri. Cooking lessons from this grain were taught, of which about 350 recipes were displayed.
The problem of malnutrition can be eradicated only by the coordination of institutions and communities including the government. Guidance is given during adolescence to reduce the amount of anemia in women. For that Sangeeni Sisters is working hard to eradicate malnutrition from life cycle approach. Not only this, various positive programs have been started during pregnancy and after delivery.
245 teams of the Adani Foundation and the community, including the government, are working intensively to eliminate malnutrition. Since 2018, Suposhan Abhiyan is being run in Narmada district with the joint initiative of Adani Foundation and Adani Wilmar. The main objective of which is to improve the health and nutrition level of children, adolescents and mothers in rural areas.
