Adani Foundation has collaborated with the National Institute of Education International to organize and conduct the STEM Leadership Program which is an integral part of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Under this program run by Temasek Foundation, Singapore, 42 teachers from six Adani Foundation Schools will be trained as master trainers to promote STEM leadership in the Indian context.

The time frame of this program will be 3 years (April 2023 to December 2025) and is divided into six phases. The first phase is scheduled from April 14 to 16 which is already underway. All the phases except the fifth phase training will be conducted by eight experts from NIE at Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This will include a baseline study of the status of STEM education in Gujarat and the profile of STEM industries, developing integrated STEM curriculum, building leadership in STEM curriculum in Gujarat through online and in-person workshops, and sharing learnings of master trainers . Their experiences will also be shared during the three-day national level conference.

During the fifth phase, participants will travel to Singapore to gain hands-on workshops on emerging technologies and innovation at Singapore universities and STEM companies. They will visit schools in Singapore and interact with teachers to learn about STEM topics. This will lead to the establishment of a strong network of STEM educators in Singapore and India.

The design and development of this integrated STEM curriculum framework will be robust to the Indian context, which will be in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. This will include standards, assessment tools, recommended approaches and proposed activities. This comprehensive framework will also be presented as well as recommended for implementation in several educational boards of the country.

STEM education has great potential to develop and empower school students in the country. It is well suited to kindle the curiosity of the young minds to make them professionals with the ability to understand various subjects and find innovative solutions to real world problems. The STEM Leadership Program is an extension of Adani Foundation’s efforts to make quality education accessible and affordable to as many children as possible. The Foundation also runs the Smart Learning program with several free and subsidized schools across the country.
