Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), the renewable energy arm of the Adani Group, has now fully commissioned its fourth wind-solar hybrid power plant in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, and the asset has been capitalised. This newly added hybrid power plant has a combined operational generation capacity of 700 MW and has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) at Rs 3.24/kWh for 25 years.
This new hybrid power plant is a combination of 600 MW of solar and 510 MW of wind plants. This latest hybrid plant deploys advanced renewable technologies, such as bifacial solar PV modules and horizontal single-axis trackers (HSAT) systems, to enable maximum power generation through solar energy. The plant is co-located, and is designed to deliver at least 50% CUF, the highest CUF of any renewable project in India.
The plant harnesses the potential of renewable energy by solving production interruptions and providing a more reliable solution to meet growing power demand. With this, AGEL’s operating wind-solar hybrid portfolio now reaches 2,140 MW, which continues to be the largest in the world.
With the successful commissioning of the 700 MW plant, the world’s largest wind-solar hybrid power plant, AGEL now has the largest operating renewable portfolio in India, with 8,024 MW. The plant is owned by Adani Hybrid Energy Jaisalmer Four Limited, a 100% subsidiary of AGEL.
Earlier in May 2022, AGEL commissioned India’s first 390 MW hybrid power plant. After this, the world’s largest co-located 600 MW hybrid power plant has been commissioned in September 2022 and the third hybrid power plant of 450 MW in December 2022. All these three hybrid energy generation assets are located in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
