Surat: Chamber President met officials of the Indian Embassy in Washington DC.  Loktej Business, World News

South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) President Ramesh Vaghasia and Honorary Treasurer Kiran Thummar recently visited the Indian Embassy in Washington DC, USA. During this, he met senior officials of the Embassy including Trade Counselor and First Secretary Jigar Rawal (IRS).

  • In the meeting, there was a wide discussion on increasing exports from Surat, Gujarat and various sectors across India.
  • Jigar Rawal informed Surat entrepreneurs about export opportunities in various industries in the US including pharmaceuticals and solar energy.
  • He also gave suggestions to the entrepreneurs of Surat to prepare them for the American market and increase exports.
  • Both sides also discussed the efforts being made by the Government of India and the Government of Gujarat to promote exports.

Mission 84:

  • The visit was organized under SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84.
  • The objective of this mission is to connect Indian entrepreneurs with American businessmen and increase exports from India.
