Surat: Chamber’s representatives made presentations to the ministers in Delhi. Loktej Surat, Business News

President of South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry Surat, Himanshu Bodawala, then President Ashish Gujarati, President of FIASVI Bharat Gandhi, Gujarat Chamber of Commerce Gaurangbhai Bhagat met Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of Chemicals and Chemicals, Government of India on Monday.

Government of India has issued Quality Control Order on Polyester Yarn, the provisions of which are to be implemented from 3rd April 2023. Several meetings were held in the chamber in this regard and in the end it was decided to give a presentation to the minister from the industries. The Minister asked to look into the detailed presentation of the delegation and also inform the Secretary, Department of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Baruka. This was also informed to Baruka, who agreed to extend the execution time if necessary. Overall, the overall opinion of everyone was to help the industrial world.

A meeting was also held at this level with Darshanaben Zardos, Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles and various issues like Custom Duty on Machinery, QCO on Yarn, New Textile Scheme were discussed in detail. The minister gave proper guidance on which issue the presentation was to be made and assured to co-operate if needed.

A delegation of Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Southern Gujarat Chamber and Fiyaswi Tax Research Unit also called on Smt. Leematullah Yaden, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Finance and urged not to impose Customs Duty and Anti-Dumping Duty on Textile Machinery with effect from 1st April, 2023. Gave a detailed presentation. Mrs Yaden took it upon herself to consider all these submissions and make further submissions.

Apart from this, Textile Leadership Conclave has been organized by Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in which the Minister was invited as the special guest, Mrs. Darshanaben Zardos, which the Minister accepted.
