South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry organized a two-day ‘SGCCI Garment Expo 2023 – Vendor Networking Opportunity’ at Sarsana Platinum Hall. During this expo, ‘Garment Conclave 2023’ was also organized at Platinum Hall from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The first session on ‘Garment Manufacturing’ was organized on the second day of the Conclave on Thursday, 28 December 2023 from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm. In which the keynote speaker, Prashant Aggarwal, Co-Founder and Joint Managing Director, Wazir Advisors, gave guidance on the topic ‘Revolutionizing Manufacturing: Smart Factory Development in the Global and Indian Apparel Industry’.
Surendra Jain, Business Director, Wazir Advisors joined as the keynote speaker on the topic ‘Secrets of Building an Efficient Global Apparel Factory’. Raman Dutta, Founder and National General Secretary, The Brands and Sourcing Leaders Association, spoke on the topic ‘Driving Excellence as a Global Brand and Sourcing Leader’.
Mohinder Mahajan, Founder and CEO, PVR Sourcing, addressed the topic ‘Increasing Export Potential: A Buyer’s Perspective and Surat’s Core Focus for Global Markets’. Naveen Sainani, Founder and Chairman of Fritz Gayatri Clothing Company of Brand Fritzberg, guided the entrepreneurs with his extensive knowledge on ‘Unlikely Trends: Innovation and Insights in Apparel’. Industry’.
The second session was organized on the topic ‘Threads of Innovation: Exploring the Garment Industry Evolution’ in which keynote speakers Prem Aggarwal, Managing Director, Garment Mantra Lifestyle Limited and Shrikant Banerjee, Vice President Business, provided comprehensive information to the entrepreneurs.
While the third session was held on the topic ‘Infusing Artificial Intelligence into the Garment and Fashion Industry: Transformative Implementation’. Manan Gondalia and Swati Tiwari as keynote speakers guided the entrepreneurs and fashion students.
Prashant Aggarwal gave importance to knowledge and training for apparel manufacturing. He said that the global market for various products in the world is worth US $ 910 billion, of which the apparel market is worth US $ 514 billion. Global buyers now want to move away from China and India has a golden opportunity to attract them. Global buyers want good quality, bulk production and timely delivery. While Bangladesh, Vietnam and Cambodia are taking advantage of this opportunity, there is a big opportunity for India in this direction, which the entrepreneurs of Surat should also take advantage of.
