Surat: NRI Marriage Awareness Seminar was organized

A joint initiative of Gujarat State NRI Gujarati Pratishthan and The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry and NRG Centre-Surat in association with Uka Tarsadia University to provide guidance to young women wishing to marry abroad.

As India completes 75 years of independence, as part of the celebration of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Gujarat State NRI Gujarati Pratishthan and South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry and NRG Centre- Surat in association with Uka Tarsadia University organized a joint Organized. ‘NRI Marriage Awareness Seminar’ was organized at Uka Tarsadia University, Bardoli. In which non-resident Gujarati representatives of Gandhinagar Ramesh Rawal and Pragyesh Lavingya were present. Whereas Supreme Court lawyer Preeti Joshi, as a speaker, guided the girl students by giving detailed information about the precautions and measures to be taken for marriage with NRIs.

Honorary Minister of the Chamber of Commerce Bhavesh Taylor said that in the present digital era, the rapid expansion of relationships has started. When the relationship develops into a matrimonial relationship, many precautions need to be taken and the same precautions become even more important when the marriage relationship is to be with a person settled in a foreign country. This seminar has been organized to explain some precautions that are necessary while marrying an NRI.

Ramesh Rawal, a representative of the Non-Resident Gujarati Pratishthan, said that NRG started in 1998 and currently has six centers in Gujarat. One of which is working in the Chamber of Commerce in Surat and a lot of good work is being done through it.

Advocate Preeti Joshi said that while the practice of marrying daughters abroad has increased, there are many such things which need to be taken care of. It is especially important to understand the language of the country where the daughter is to be married. Food and culture have to be taken care of. Because after marriage foreign culture has to be adopted. Then you have to take care of the lifestyle. Everyone is busy in their own work abroad, so who lives next door? They didn’t even realize it. Apart from this, you have to adjust according to the environment at home abroad. Keeping all these things in mind, daughters should think about getting married abroad.

Youth’s age, family, education, employment, residence before marriage, is it involved in any crime? And if someone has gone abroad for a job with a visa, then he should take special information about the type of visa etc. He advised girls to be careful of chatting with unknown youths on social media as many times girls become materialistic and get attracted towards youths by seeing their profile posted on social media and sometimes they become victim of fraud. also happen.

Sometimes a young woman is taken into marriage just to do housework and there have also been cases where her husband is already married to another young woman and is living there. That’s why one’s marriage proposal should not be accepted immediately and he advised the young women to think a hundred times before signing any paper.

He further advised the young women who wish to marry abroad to take some precautions. In which, along with getting married from the social system, registration of marriage and obtaining and compulsorily keeping the marriage registration certificate, making an affidavit from the husband about his current marital status, obtaining insurance cover before reaching the place of residence abroad.
