1.5 lakh kg of sweets sold in Surat in 3 days
Over 1.50 lakh kg of sweets have been sold across Surat in the last three days for the Raksha Bandhan festival this year. Ever since Sumul started making sweets, the sale of sweets has been increasing. Sumul Dairy has sold 10% more sweets as compared to last year. Surtis eat a lot of sweets during festivals like Rakshabandhan, Janmashtami, Diwali. Due to Raksha Bandhan, the sweet shops were crowded for the last two-three days.
Sumul’s main product Mawa is its own, so quality is maintained
Sumul has sold 71,000 kg of sweets in the last three days, said Jayesh Patel, director of Surat Dairy. The dairy has sold 50,000 kgs of Pedha, Kaju Katari, Mawa Burfi. Also sold 30,000 kg of Shrikhand and 10,000 kg of Mawa. Sumul Dairy earns huge amount of income from this type of sale and gives maximum profit to the cattle rearers. Compared to last year, this time the sale of sweets has increased. Surti has been buying sweets from Sumul on festivals for decades.
