Surat: Seminar on ‘Roadmap for Success in E-Commerce and Digital Marketing’ organized by Chamber of Commerce

A session on ‘The Roadmap for Success in E-Commerce and Digital Marketing’ by The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a part of the e-Knowledge Series on 23rd Jan, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Samruddhi, Nanpura, Surat was organized. In which e-commerce expert Sandeep Kathiria and digital marketing trainer Forum Marfatia as expert speakers guided the entrepreneurs on various aspects of developing business through e-commerce platform.

Amrish Bhatt, President, SGCCI Education and Skill Development Center informed the entrepreneurs about various activities of the Chamber. The Chamber also requested to provide detailed information about the educational courses being run under the aegis of SGCCI Education & Skill Development Center for entrepreneurs, youth and students to gain complete knowledge of the industry.

Speaker Sandeep Kathiria said that 40 percent of India’s total population and 84 percent of America’s 260 million people use the Internet. E-commerce and digital marketing business through internet is booming. Internet was started for cash on delivery in India. However, after the year 2014, internet usage increased in India and since then e-commerce started growing. At present, there is a total business of $ 10 billion in India and 35 percent of this business is from the fashion industry. In Surat alone, more than five thousand people are selling their products on the e-commerce platform.

Speaker Forum Marfatia said that to promote business, especially entrepreneurs have to learn marketing, tracking and analysis and chasing and retargeting. Target based digital marketing has to be done by filtering. Just posting on various social media platforms does not make digital marketing. He must have knowledge of human psychology, target audience and business. Knowledge of color science is a must for digital marketing. Similarly, it is important to know about the tag line as well.

Along with this, he said that now a new concept of DTC i.e. Direct to Consumer has come in the business. In which the manufacturers can directly deliver the product to the consumers through digital marketing platform. Apart from this, digital marketing is also necessary for product based and service based promotion. Entrepreneurs should start digital marketing of business with one or two platforms. He spoke about the power of digital marketing.

In this session both the speakers also gave various tips to the entrepreneurs on lead generation on e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Flipkart, Detusi website/online selling, Facebook and Instagram. SGCCI Education and Skill Development Center of the Chamber of Commerce played a key role in organizing the session. Both the speakers answered various questions from the entrepreneurs and then the session came to an end.
