A seminar on ‘E-Commerce Entrepreneur 1.0’ was organized by South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce. These include Deepak Sheta, founder of Apple Group, Hiren Lathiya, founder of Limbudi Fashion, Siddhant Agarwal, Chairman of AVMI Herbal, Punit Gupta, CEO of Easycom, Shrikant Chandak, Chairman of Keshavi Fashion LLP, Chetan Kanani, Alpino Health Foods and E., Co-Founder of Chipperzone. Nirav Nakrani, Founder, Com LLP, gave detailed information to the entrepreneurs and youth of Surat about various principles of success in the e-commerce sector.

Chamber of Commerce President Ramesh Vaghasia welcomed everyone in the seminar. He said that about 1 lakh e-commerce websites are launched every day in India. The e-commerce market size in India is US$113 billion. India’s e-commerce market is growing at a compound annual growth rate of 21.5 percent, so the e-commerce market size in India is expected to reach US$300 billion by 2030. With 10.7 percent of India’s total population shopping online, there are huge opportunities for entrepreneurs and youth in the e-commerce business.

Deepak Shetta, founder of Apple Group, said, ‘E-commerce started in Surat and India in the year 2013-14. At that time, there were many questions in the minds of customers as well as sellers and e-commerce companies. Due to confusion related to product delivery to customers and product returns, the share of online shopping compared to offline at that time was only 1 percent, which has now reached 6 percent. The main reason behind this is that now through e-commerce, customers can easily return the products and the confidence has been created that they will get the money back.

Hiren Lathiya, founder of Limbudi Fashion, said, ‘Surat is Manchester in the textile category in the e-commerce sector. Surat has recently left Delhi behind in terms of menswear. The biggest problem faced by entrepreneurs in the field of e-commerce is control and auditing.

Siddhant Aggarwal, founder of Avami Herbal, said, ‘During the Corona period, the family started Avami Hair Herbal Oil with the intention of public welfare. After this, instead of paying money and promoting it, the family members started advertising hair herbal oil through social media. At that time I realized that if the product is good then there is no need for advertising.

Punit Gupta, CEO of Easycom, said, ‘Young entrepreneurs are doing very well in the e-commerce sector. There are no barriers to doing business in the e-commerce sector. In e-commerce, any person can sell products in many countries of the world by working from a small shop or home in any corner of the country.

Srikant Chandak, Chairman, Keshav Fashion LLP said, entrepreneurs should understand whether they want to increase the sales of the product or create a brand of the product. The most important thing for a business to be successful is to have good customer response to the product.

Chetan Kanani, co-founder, Alpino Health Foods, said, “We chose peanuts (singdana) to create a multiple product in a single category. Meanwhile, after getting information about peanuts, it was found that India ranks second in the production of peanuts in the world and 50 percent of the peanuts produced in the country is exported.
