Surat: Students of AMNS International School win National Award in INCA Map Quiz. Loktej Surat, Business News

3 students of AMNS International School, Hazira, Surat, have emerged national winners in the prestigious INCA Map Quiz, demonstrating remarkable performance in the field of geographical knowledge and map-reading skills. The 43rd International Congress was held this year on 6th and 7th November 2023 at ISRO, NRSC, Jodhpur. This quiz, conducted annually by the Indian National Cartographic Association (INCA), aims to develop map reading and map using habits among school children of classes VIII to X.
The team of Soumitra De, Aritro De and Swastika Das Gupta was honored by INCA for winning the annual quiz at a grand event organized in Jodhpur on Monday. ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somnath appreciated the virtual children, Jain Narayan Vyas University Vice Chancellor Professor K.L. Srivastava and INCA President Dr. Prakash Chauhan honored the winners by giving them medals and trophies.
The team’s journey for the national award began in August with the Gujarat branch round held in Ahmedabad, Vadodara and Surat. AMNS International School had organized the quiz round for schools of Surat, Bharuch and Navsari. 10 school teams participated in the round, with 2 teams from AMNS International School gaining berths in the national round.
The national round of the quiz was held on 30 September in Ahmedabad. It saw 6 teams in action, including 2 teams from AMNS International School. The second team, consisting of Jerusha Thomas, Parmi Dhaberde and Jainam Patel, also represented the school with great pride.

During the competition, students had to answer a range of questions on topics ranging from global and Indian geography to map interpretation, including satellite imagery and toposheet analysis.
