A joint initiative of South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Surat Embroidery Association, ‘Surat International Textile and Machinery Expo – CITME 2023’ was organized from 04 to 06 March 2023 at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Center, Sarsana. Today Monday, March 6, 2023, the last day of the exhibition will be open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Chamber of Commerce President Himanshu Bodawala said that the exhibition witnessed a rush of buyers from the first day itself. On Sunday, a crowd of buyers and visitors had gathered at the exhibition. Due to the large number of traders as well as buyers from all over the country, the huge space of one lakh thousand square feet of the exhibition center at Sarsana also became small. 6868 buyers visited the exhibition on the first day on Saturday. The second day on Sunday received 10,800 buyers thus a total of 17,096 visitors viewed the various machinery in the exhibition in two days.

Digital Printing Machines, Embroidery Machines, Fusion Machines, Computerized Embroidery Machines, Diet Fabric Printer, T Shirt Printing Machines, All Kinds of Printing Inks, Circular Knitting Machines, Needle Looms Machines, Roll to Roll Machine, Embroidery Threads in Garment Accessories, Embroidery Buyers flocked to see the various goods along with oil, embroidery control systems, embroidery design software and apparel machines and related services.

The exhibition showcased high-speed machinery aimed at converting digital factories into digital mills. Talking about digital factories, 5 to 6 thousand meters of cloth is printed here daily. While digital printing can be done on 50 thousand to 1 lakh meters of cloth per day in the digital mill. The fusing machine printing on 1300 meters of fabric every hour is being demonstrated with the concept of ‘no water, no pollution’. Only the machinery used in the inhouse factory is being displayed here. These machines give maximum production and in turn the cost also decreases. There are around 1000 digital printing factories in Surat which need to be converted into digital mills.

The best branded textile industrialists of Surat have participated in this exhibition. New varieties of embroidery machinery ranging from twin sequence, twin beads, mix machine and 4 to 8 sequence are being displayed at each of their stalls. Which includes high speed machinery of 1500 rpm. Very fine finishing can be done on the fabric with this machinery. There are about 1.5 lakh such embroidery machinery in Surat. Machinery with European technology ranging from Rs 30 lakh to Rs 70 lakh is being displayed.

Apart from this, the machinery of circular knitting has also been displayed. The fabrics produced on this machinery are used for readymade garments, sarees, dress material, sports wear. Which has a very good demand in India as well as abroad. Machinery ranging from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 50 lakh is being displayed.

In these two days, apart from Surat and Ahmedabad, buyers from various cities of the country like Delhi, Tiruppur, Selwas, Ludhiana, Amritsar, Panipat, Jaipur, Bhiwandi and Malegaon etc. visited the exhibition. Hence the exhibitors will get orders for hundreds of machinery. Better business will benefit not only embroiderers but also weavers and traders in the textile industry. This exhibition has given hope of good business to both the exhibitors and the buyers.
