Surat International Exhibition & Exhibition Center at Sarsana from 25 to 27 February 2023 in association with South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry, South Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Center and MSME Commissionerate, Gujarat State, Gujarat Agro Industries Corporation Limited and National SC-ST Hub The grand exhibition of ‘Food and Agritech Expo-2023’ was inaugurated at the Convention Center.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Purushottam Rupala, Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India. Praful Pansheriya, Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs, Primary, Secondary and Adult Education, Higher Education, Gujarat State as Chief Guest and DITP/Thai Trade Center Executive Director, Mumbai Supatra Swang and Consulate General of the Republic of India as Guests of Honor on the occasion Tolhah Ubaidi, General (Economics) of Indonesia-Mumbai was present as the chief guest.

Chamber President Himanshu Bodawala said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking the country forward to realize the dream of New India by empowering the farmers. It is expected that the three-day exhibition organized in this phase will become a milestone. The exhibition covers the entire chain from seed to market. Due to which there will be a great opportunity for quality improvement and new technology in the agriculture sector.

As organic food is on the rise, naturally extracted oils (such as Kachchi Ghani oil) using wood in spray format have been launched for the first time in India by Millier Company. Through this exhibition, public awareness can definitely come about the radical changes, products and new technologies coming in the food and agriculture sector. In addition, there will be bright opportunities for the food industry, organizations and students. It will also provide a good platform to the entrepreneurs in future.

Union Minister of India Parshottam Rupala said, “Gamdu Aabad to Desh Aabad” has been proved by the Government of India with its positive approach towards agriculture and rural areas. Indian government has changed the whole approach of agriculture. A budget of Rs 1 lakh 31 thousand crore has been allocated for the agriculture sector. While Rs 2 lakh 20 thousand crore has been deposited in the bank accounts of the farmers in the last eight years. Apart from this, cooperatives, animal husbandry and fisheries have been given independent status.

When Corona has shaken the whole world, then India’s economy has reached from number six to number five globally. The word immunity became very popular in Corona and people used to take the help of medicines to increase this immunity, but India’s organic food means immunity. Bajri, Ragi and Jowari Rotla are pure organic food items.

The prime minister names the millet and the large grain as Srianna and suggests to the United Nation to promote it as millet and Yuno accepts it. The time has come for the world to listen to what India has to say about organic food and Ayurveda. He said that science and technology would do a lot but production of rice, wheat and pulses would have to be done from the soil itself. India is the only country which will supply millets to the whole world, so he requested all the people associated with the food industry to promote millets.

Gujarat’s state level minister Prafulla Pansheriya said, if you want to be healthy throughout life, then agriculture is the best of the best with nature. Rural life is the best. How does the body deal with the digestive system? It is not found anywhere else in the world except India. The world will demand the food that Indian farmers produce. Agriculture is not only food production but also a way of life. In future we will have to return to cow based agriculture.

Indonesia’s Consul General (Economics) Tolhah Ubaidi said that the trade between India and Indonesia could be USD 21 billion in 2021 and USD 32 billion in 2022. India and Indonesia are trying to take this trade up to US$ 50 billion.

Supatra Swang said that the Thai pavilion has been set up at the exhibition organized by the Chamber of Commerce and is an opportunity to showcase Thai products to the public. Where handicrafts, kitchenware, Thai food and tourism will be displayed.

Food and Agritech Expo President K. B. Piplia informed that 11 exhibitors have set up their stalls in this exhibition. In which Surtis will get to taste more than 650 delicious and healthy food at one place.
