On Thursday, 31st August 2023 at 6.00 pm, a meeting was held by South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) with the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, at Samhti, Sarsana, Surat, with the office bearers and entrepreneurs of the Chamber. Addressing the industrialists, he said that India has a golden opportunity to become an alternative to China. In present times when the trend of global market is going on, entrepreneurs have to focus on quality product to remain competitive in the global market. Any product must have quality.
In the meeting, Chamber of Commerce President Ramesh Vaghasia presented the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 project to the Chief Minister. He informed the Chief Minister that the South Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry is going to provide an international platform to industrialists to increase exports from the Gujarat region. Under this, an effort is being made to conclude a bilateral trade agreement of Rs 84,000 crore by connecting 84,000 businessmen of Gujarat and 84,000 businessmen of India doing business in different countries of the world.
He requested the Chief Minister to make Mission 84 a part of Vibrant Gujarat. He said that SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 project should be presented by the government in various conferences of Vibrant Gujarat. Mission 84 brochure should be included in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
Apart from this, he thanked the state government for the amount of Rs 24 crore sanctioned by the government for the construction of an international standard exhibition hall in the premises of Surat International Exhibition and Convention Center at Sarsana and Khatmuhurt ceremony from his (Chief Minister’s) Varad Haath. Requested to give a suitable date for completion.
In this meeting, Chamber of Commerce Vice President Vijay Mewawala, then former President Himanshu Bodawala, Honorary Treasurer Kiran Thummar and former Presidents Ashok Shah, Rajendra Chokhawala, B.S. Besides Agarwal, Rohit Mehta, Dinesh Navadiya, industrialists Mathur Sawani, Kanji Bhalada, MLAs Vinubhai Mordiya, Sandeep Desai and Manubhai Patel and collector Ayush Oak and municipal commissioner Shalini Agarwal were present. The meeting was moderated by Honorary Minister Nikhil Madrasi.
