New Delhi, June 4 Mahindra & Mahindra is determined to maintain its leadership position in the fast growing sports utility vehicle (SUV) segment in the current financial year as well. Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Manoj Bhat has said that demand in this segment continues to be strong. Mahindra’s pending orders in the SUV segment stand at 2.92 lakh units. The company is also planning to increase its production capacity by the end of this year as it looks to reduce the waiting period on various models.
Bhatt told PTI that there is a huge demand for the company’s products, which can be gauged from the bookings. He said, “If you look at the booking figures in the last quarter, there was a huge demand across all models. Demand for the XUV 300/400, Thar and Scorpio and the XUV700 continues to be strong. It is good from this point of view that customers are getting more choice of products.
