TV Narendran said in an interview here, ‘We want to increase the production capacity in India. We already have a capacity of around 21 million tonnes. It will soon become 25 million tonnes as Kalinganagar is expanding. We have some more plans – by combining Nilachal, Kalinganagar and Meramandali or Angul, a capacity of 40 million tonnes can be achieved by the year 2030.

Priority is to complete Kalinganagar extension

He said several projects are underway at various locations in India and the company has “given priority to complete the 5 million tonne per annum Kalinganagar expansion”. The company is in the process of increasing the capacity of its plant at Kalinganagar in Odisha from 3 million tonnes to 8 million tonnes.

He said, ‘Within 9 months of acquisition, we have increased the capacity of Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited to one million tonnes on an annual basis.’ Regarding capacity expansion, Narendran said, ‘Capital expenditure of Rs 12,000 crore will be made in India. are looking.
