New Delhi: The Department of Telecommunications has disposed of Vodafone Idea’s (VIL) objections related to its license fee demand of Rs 3,273 crore. The debt-ridden telecom company on Friday said these demands include fee demands of Rs 1,749 crore for financial year 2015-16 and Rs 1,524 crore for 2016-17.
The company further said that it is studying the DoT’s decision to take further action. VIL said in the information given to the stock market that the Department of Telecommunications has said in its letter dated October 4 that it has disposed of the company’s representation and objections regarding the license fee demand. The company had earlier said that it had written a letter to the department to correct the mistakes in the demands for the financial year 2016-17, on which action has not been taken yet.
VIL said that there are many mistakes in the demand of the Department of Telecommunications, which need to be corrected. The company has filed a review petition seeking direction from the Supreme Court to the department to correct these mistakes, which is still pending.
