Infrastructure is developing very fast in the country. Expressways and roads are being constructed at a rapid pace. But, do you know about the construction of the smallest expressway in the country? This expressway is being built between two cities of NCR, Delhi and Gurugram.

This Dwarka Expressway being built between Delhi and Gurugram (Dwarka Expressway) length is about 29 km. Of this, 18.9 km portion is being built in Gurugram, while 10.1 km portion is being built towards Delhi.
10 lakh people will benefit
With the opening of this expressway, about 10 lakh people traveling from Delhi to Gurugram are likely to be directly benefited. Also, the traffic pressure on the route will be reduced by about 40 percent.
when will the road start
Regarding this expressway, Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari had said that it will start by December 2023. However, work is still going on in this. Due to this, it is understood that it can be started in the last month of January or February.
Work going on near IGI Airport
Construction companies associated with the expressway say that work is going on on the 3.5 km portion of the road being built towards Delhi. Also, work is going on to connect it to IGI Airport. Along with this, work is going on at some places in the Gurugram section.
Dwarka to Manesar in 15 minutes
The expressway will reduce the travel time between Dwarka and Manesar by 15 minutes. The distance between Manesar and Indira Gandhi International Airport can now be covered in 20 minutes. Whereas the travel time between Manesar and Singhu border will reduce to only 45 minutes.
Two lakh tonnes of steel was used
The Dwarka Expressway has been built using two lakh tonnes of steel – 30 times more than used to build the Eiffel Tower in Paris. In addition to steel, approximately 20 million cubic meters of cement concrete, which was six times more than that used in the construction of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, was spent in the construction of the project.
