Bishakh Jyoti told our colleague ETimes, ‘I am very happy that a cinema hall in my city is showing our film, while most of the halls in Bengal are still hesitating to give place to ‘The Kerala Story’. I have heard that distributors and hall owners are getting calls asking not to screen the film. I think not only Shrima but probably some other theatres, especially single-screen theatres, have started showing the film. We hope that soon it will be shown in many more halls of West Bengal.
West Bengal government had banned
It may be known that on May 18, the Supreme Court had stayed the ban imposed by the West Bengal government on ‘The Kerala Story’. But, despite the apex court’s order, the film is still absent in most of the theaters in the state. As per reports, the state government is yet to issue a new circular.
