It has contributed immensely in making the economies of these countries dynamic. Especially Australia, Britain, Canada, America, Singapore, Japan and many other developed countries today are engaged in formulating new policies on how to make Indian citizens living in these countries a participant in the political field so that The social, economic and political system of these countries can be improved. Today, the growing trend towards the great Indian culture is clearly visible among the native citizens of all these countries. Today, all these countries have started considering their citizens of Indian origin as national economic assets, who are contributing significantly in the economic development of these countries. To attract more and more citizens of Indian origin to their country, today there is a sort of competition between these countries.

Today, more than 320 lakh citizens of Indian origin are living in different countries of the world. Of these, 140 lakh Indian citizens are living in these countries as overseas Indians and the remaining 180 lakh Indians have become citizens of these countries as origin. In all, citizens of Indian origin are living in more than 146 countries. Citizens of Indian origin have been living in Caribbean countries, North America, Fiji, South and East Africa and Malaysia for more than 200 years (centuries) and many generations of Indians have been living there today. Citizens of Indian origin have been living in the Gulf countries for the last few decades and are playing an important role in boosting the economy of these countries, whereas since 1965, America, Britain, Canada, Germany, Singapore In many developed countries like India and Australia, Indians have made a special identity for themselves and have made an incomparable contribution to the development of these countries especially in the fields of information technology, health and science.

Especially in the decade of 1990s and thereafter, Indians having higher education and higher skills migrated to these countries to work in highly skilled positions in multinational companies working especially in the field of technology and science. In 2016, there were 6.76 lakh Indian-origin citizens (2.8 per cent of the total Australian population) living in Australia who had acquired Australian citizenship. In addition, 4.55 lakh Indians (1.9 percent of the total population of Australia) were living in Australia as overseas Indians. The Indian-origin population in Australia is growing at the fastest rate between 2006 and 2016, with an average growth rate of 10.7 per cent, and it is expected that by 2031, the population of Indian-origin citizens will exceed that of Chinese-origin citizens. Citizens of Indian origin are considered to be the most educated here as 58 percent of citizens of Indian origin have received higher studies (Graduate and above) whereas only 22 percent of citizens of Australian origin have received higher studies. The average income of citizens of Indian origin is also the highest.

Similarly, according to the available data of the year 2011, there were 14.5 lakh citizens of Indian origin living in Britain, which is 2.3 percent of the total population of Britain. Among citizens of Indian origin, 25 per cent of Indians have higher education from leading UK universities and are employed in highly skilled sectors such as medicine, law, pharmacy and accountancy. The unemployment rate among citizens of Indian origin in the UK is much lower than that of citizens of other countries. A large number of citizens of Indian origin are employed in fields such as doctors, engineers, solicitors, chartered accountants, teachers and information technology. In the field of information technology, more than 60 percent of the total engineers coming from foreign countries to the UK are of Indian origin. Only 40 percent of Indians work as businessmen in the UK’s total health services sector (including retail).

In the year 2016, there were 1.4 million citizens of Indian origin living in Canada, which was 4 percent of the total population of Canada. Of these, 45 percent of Indians were highly educated (degree holders from university), while only 26 percent of Canadian citizens had higher education in the total population. Out of the total population of Indian origin, 75 per cent Indians with higher education were working in Canada in high tech sectors, high skilled sectors, businessmen and entrepreneurs. Similarly, a good number of citizens of Indian origin are working in the field of medicine.

The total population of citizens of Indian origin in Singapore is 3 lakh after China and Malaya and it is 9 percent of the total population of Singapore. Citizens of Indian origin constitute 21 percent of the total population of citizens of other countries living in Singapore. In Singapore, 60 percent of the total citizens of Indian origin work in a large number of sectors such as financial services, information technology, construction and maritime activities, small and medium business.

The number of Asian Americans in the US has more than tripled over the past 3 decades, and the Indian-American population is growing at the fastest rate among Asian Americans. Today there are 4 million citizens of Indian origin living in America, which is 1.2 percent of the total population of America. The contribution of citizens of Indian origin in the US economy is immeasurable as the number of citizens of Indian origin is increasing very fast especially in fields like Information Technology (Engineer), Healthcare (Doctor) and Science (Scientist). Indian origin has the highest salary among citizens of Asian origin at US$130,000 per annum. Which is almost twice the average salary of US $ 70,000 for all citizens living in America. According to an estimate, by the year 2030, among citizens of Asian origin, the number of citizens of Indian origin will overtake the number of citizens of China.

The rapid increase in the number of highly skilled citizens of Indian origin in developed countries also indicates that the citizens of these countries are increasingly inclined towards Indian culture, because of this reason they are constantly appointing citizens of Indian origin to higher positions. They are getting settled and the citizens of these countries have built immense trust on the citizens of Indian origin. At the same time, the citizens of these countries are now beginning to realize that only the citizens of Indian origin can solve the problems created in these developed countries, especially in the economic and social fields, because of the eternal culture of India.
