National Stock Exchange’s Nifty also closed at 21,658.60 points with a gain of 141.25 points or 0.66 percent. Among Sensex companies, Bajaj Finance gained the most by 4.44 percent and NTPC by more than three percent. Apart from this, IndusInd Bank, Axis Bank, Tata Motors, Nestle, Power Grid, Infosys, Bajaj Finserv and HDFC Bank were also major gainers. On the other hand, loss-making stocks include HCL Tech, Mahindra & Mahindra, Maruti and Hindustan Unilever.
In other markets of Asia, South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei, China’s Shanghai Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were among the losers. There was a bullish trend in early trading in the major markets of Europe. US markets were in loss on Wednesday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude rose 0.92 percent to $78.97 per barrel. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) had sold shares worth Rs 666.34 crore on Wednesday. BSE Sensex had lost 535.88 points and Nifty 148.45 points on Wednesday.
