While the BSE Sensex crossed the 65,000-mark to reach an all-time high, Indian benchmark indices continued to scale new heights. Shares of HDFC Bank and HDFC Bank boosted the indices with strong gains, amid optimism raised by developments related to the merger.Oil & gas, power, metals and financial services sectors were among the top gainers of the session, while BSE information The technology index suffered notable losses. The advance-to-decline ratio remained strongly in favor of the gains, with 2,087 scrips advancing and 1,285 scrips declining on the BSE.

The broad indices also saw considerable buying interest. Shares of ADF Foods Ltd, top BSE smallcap gainer, soared nearly 20% to hit a 52-week high of Rs 1,121.80 per scrip on the BSE. There was also heavy buying in the shares of Monarch Networth Capital Limited and Hindustan Foods Limited.

At 11:20 am on Monday, the BSE Sensex gained 0.45% to reach a level of 65,007. The Nifty 50 index climbed 0.41% to reach the level of 19,267. HDFC, UltraTech Cement Company and HDFC Bank were the top gainers on the Sensex, while Power Grid Corporation of India, Tech Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki were the market losers.
