Mumbai: Indian benchmark indices were trading in the green today. Telecom index was the only sectoral index to gain on the Bombay Stock Exchange. BSE Healthcare index was the top loser sector today. The BSE Sensex is up nearly 230 points or 0.35% at 65,060 and the NSE Nifty-50 index is up nearly 79 points or 0.41% at 19,333. On Friday, 2,087 scrips advanced, 1,265 scrips declined and 163 scrips remained unchanged on the BSE.

Top gainers and losers on BSE:

Tata Steel Limited, Tata Motors Limited and Mahindra & Mahindra Limited were the top gainers on the Sensex today, while Larsen & Toubro Limited, Asian Paints Limited and Sun Pharmaceuticals Limited were the top gainers on the Sensex.
Indices traded higher in the broader market, with BSE Mid-Cap index rising 0.69% and BSE Small-cap index rising 0.82% respectively. Top mid-cap gainers are Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited and Steel Authority of India Limited, while top small-cap gainers are Shakti Pumps India Limited and Atul Auto Limited.

As on September 01, 2023, the market capitalization of BSE-listed companies was approximately Rs 311 lakh crore. With this, 207 stocks hit 52-week highs and 11 stocks hit 52-week lows.
