This is not the right time to leave film career and join politics: Randeep Hooda

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has not ruled out the possibility of joining politics in the future, saying that for now he wants to focus on his acting career.
There were reports that Randeep Hooda, who is awaiting the release of his biography of Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’, may contest the Lok Sabha elections as a BJP candidate from his hometown Rohtak in Haryana.
“Politics is as serious a career as being a filmmaker or an actor,” the actor told PTI. I have been very honest towards my acting. If I have to join politics, I will take it up as a full-time job.
“I am not a person who can do many things at the same time,” he said. At the moment, I have many films to do as an actor and I have a new career as a director, which I enjoyed, although it was very difficult.
Hooda, known for films like “Highway”, “Sarabjit” and “Sultan”, said, “This is not the right time to jump into it (politics) and give up my film career because half- I never did any work half-heartedly.
I love ‘serving’ as Khalsa Aid or cleaning beaches or working for other environmental causes. It was always in me, but you never know the future.”
The film ‘Swatantrya Veer Savarkar’ was initially to be directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, who left the film citing creative differences. Now the film is directed and co-written by Hooda, who also plays the lead role in the film.
