Today, millions of people across the country make online payments through UPI payment. There has been an increase in the number of payments through UPI for some time across the country. Launched in 2016, UPI has become one of the most used payment modes today. Many rules regarding this UPI have been changed from January 1, 2024. Information regarding these changes was released by the Reserve Bank of India in the month of December itself.

National Payments Corporation of India allows people to make payments through many payment apps like Google Pay, Paytm, PhonePe. Making payment through these apps is very easy. But now National Payments Corporation of India has said that those accounts which have not been active for a long time will be deactivated. That is, those UPI IDs which have not been used in the last one year, will now be closed.

This much payment will be done through UPI

According to the corporation, payment through UPI will become more accessible. The daily limit for making payments has now been increased. Till now users will be able to make payment of Rs 1 lakh in a day. While giving relief, RBI has also increased the limit of UPI payment in hospitals and educational institutions. Now the payment limit at these places has become maximum Rs 5 lakh.

According to the information, if a user uses prepaid payment equipment while making UPI payment, then he will have to pay an interchange fee of 1.1 percent on the payment. At the same time, the rules have also been changed to prevent any kind of fraud with new users. Under this, there will be a time limit of only four hours for new users on payment of more than Rs 2,000. If any kind of fraud occurs, a complaint can be made within four hours.

UPI ATM will come soon

Reserve Bank of India is also taking many measures to promote UPI. The Reserve Bank has signed an agreement with Japanese company Hitachi in this regard. According to this, UPI ATM will be launched. This will be such an ATM through which the process of withdrawing cash will be easy. To withdraw cash from ATM, you just have to scan the QR code.
