san francisco (Uttam Hindu News): Meta-owned Threads has said that it will make its application programming interface (API) available to developers by June this year.
The company is currently testing it with a small group of partners as well as some independent developers.
“While we will be limiting access to the beta at this time, we hope to make the API widely available by the end of June,” Threads engineer Jesse Chen said in a post.
Chen said that over the past few months, “we’ve been empowering creators, developers, and brands to manage the presence of their threads at scale and easily share innovative ideas with their communities from their favorite third-party applications.” “We are building a Threads API to enable that.”
The API currently enables users to authenticate content posted and publish threads through these tools.
“Soon, we will enable reply moderation and insights capabilities,” the company said.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri had confirmed that it is working on an API to enable third-party experiences.
Meanwhile, Meta has also started testing a cross-posting feature that will allow users to post to threads from Facebook.
This is the same feature that users have been using for a long time to post Stories and Reels at the same time on both Facebook and Instagram.
