Udaan serial fame Kavita Chaudhary said goodbye to the world at the age of 67. According to the information, the actress died due to cardiac arrest. While talking to the media, Kavita Choudhary’s nephew Ajay Salai confirmed that Kavita Choudhary suffered a sudden heart attack, after which she was admitted to Parvati Hospital in Amritsar where she breathed her last at around 8:30 pm. After the news of Kavita’s death, fans paid tribute to her on social media and expressed grief over her death. Kavita played the role of an IPS officer Kalyani Singh in the famous show Udaan aired on Doordarshan, after which she gained a lot of popularity.

What is the reason behind cardiac arrest?

Pro. Ram Shankar Upadhyay (senior scientist) tells that there are four chambers in our heart. Right atrium and right ventricle on the right side. Left atrium and left ventricle on the left. The right chamber, called the right atrium, contains the sinoatrial node. It is a kind of natural pace maker which beats from time to time, due to this the heart works and comes to normal condition. There is an insulating layer in between these chambers which is also called non-conducting layer. According to the working method of the heart, the activity which should happen in the right corner should not happen anywhere else. This insulating layer itself stops this. The upper layer of the heart is pericardium, the second inner layer is myocardium and the inner layer is endocardium. Changes in these activities mainly cause cardiac arrest.

What to do in case of cardiac arrest

Pro. According to Ram, when a person suddenly becomes unconscious, he should be given CPR immediately, that is, give pressure on his chest with both hands 100 to 120 times in a minute, this pressure has to be given until the person regains consciousness. Because it takes 330 seconds to reboot the heart i.e. to start beating again, hence CPR should be continued till the person regains consciousness. With this the patient can be easily saved.

What to do in case of cardiac arrest

Pro. Ram Shankar Upadhyay says that “the government should make efforts to deal with this emergency. The government should issue guidelines to cardiologists to approve some medicines in the name of first aid so that anyone can take it in emergency because the same medicines are given in cardiac arrest even after reaching the hospital. Giving emergency medicines can prevent deaths due to delay in getting treatment.”

Pro. Ram Shankar also advises that two Disprin tablets dissolved in water can be given to a cardiac arrest patient. Apart from this, Sorbitrate 5mg, a medicine placed under the tongue, can also be given in emergency. This can save the patient’s life. Apart from this, if a person does not have heart problem but wants to detect irregularities, then he can get CT Coronary Angiography (CCTA) done.
