According to Davkhare, Danve said that on the lines of the recently launched express trains on the Mumbai-Shirdi and Mumbai-Solapur routes, a train would also be run between Mumbai and Goa. The minister informed the delegation that electrification of Mumbai-Goa rail route has been completed and new train service will be started after inspection. The delegation discussed several issues related to Railways in Thane and Konkan region with the Minister during the meeting. The legislators also demanded that Thane’s Mumbra station be renamed as Mumbra Devi station. Danve assured them that a decision would be taken after the state government submitted a proposal to this effect.
Not a single Vande Bharat in these states
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will recently flag off two Vande Bharat Express trains simultaneously. Both these trains went to the account of Maharashtra. These trains were run from Mumbai to Sainagar Shirdi and Solapur. With this, the number of Vande Bharat trains reached 10 in the country. Two Vande Bharat trains were already running in Maharashtra. One of these trains is running from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and the other from Nagpur to Bilaspur. In this way the number of Vande Bharat trains reached four in the state.
Although not even a single Vande Bharat Express train has been run in many states of the country. These include Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, Kerala, Northeast and Odisha. Punjab and Haryana have also not yet received the gift of Vande Bharat Express. However, the Vande Bharat train from Delhi to Katra and Himachal passes through these states. Punjab government has demanded to run Vande Bharat train from Delhi to Amritsar and Bhatinda.
