Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav recently said that Vande Metro shuttle trains will be run on routes covering a distance of 100 km between the two cities. Sources said that the design of both the types of Vande Metro trains is being finalised. The Research Development and Standards Organization is looking into it. Its prototype will be ready by June or July. These trains will be manufactured at the Railway’s production units located at Chennai, Kapurthala and Rae Bareli. These trains will have the facility of standing as well as sitting for the passengers.
what will be the speed
Vande Metro Rapid will have a maximum speed of 90 kmph while Vande Metro Regional will have a speed of 130 kmph. Railway officials say that in the first phase, about 600 Vande Metro coaches will be manufactured. Currently eight Vande Bharat Express trains are running in the country. The first such train was run between New Delhi and Banaras. Prime Minister Narendra Modi can flag off two more such trains. These trains can be run from Mumbai to Sainagar Shirdi and Solapur.
