Vaishnav said that Rs 381 crore has been sanctioned for converting the entire track from Kasargod to Thiruvananthapuram to 110 kmph speed capacity under phase one. He said that this would be done within a year and a half. Other necessary reforms will take place in the second phase. It will take two to three and a half years to complete and after that the speed capacity of the track will be increased to 130 kmph. The minister also said that at present only one Vande Bharat Express train has been given to Kerala and more trains will be started in future.
