New Delhi. German luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz India’s sales in the first half of 2023 grew by 13 per cent year-on-year to 8,528 units. This is the company’s best half sales in the country. The company said on Tuesday that the first half of 2023 saw a very high demand for top end (TEV) ie vehicles priced above Rs 1.5 crore. In the first half, the company’s sales of vehicles worth more than Rs 1.5 crore grew by 54 per cent to 2,000 units.
One out of every four Mercedes-Benz vehicles sold in the first half was from the TEV segment, the company said. In the second quarter of the current calendar year, the company’s sales increased by eight percent to 3,831 units. It stood at 3,551 units in the same period a year ago. The company said that this is its highest ever sales figure for the second quarter. Speaking to PTI, Mercedes-Benz India Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Santosh Iyer said, “The 54 per cent growth in the TEV segment is very strong. We have launched five new products in the TEV segment this year. The focus on this segment has certainly helped us grow.
