Regulator Bureau of Civil Aviation Safety (BCAS) has taken action over the incident of passengers eating food near the runway at Mumbai airport. indigo A fine of Rs 1.20 crore has been imposed. While regulator BCAS has imposed a fine of Rs 60 lakh on Mumbai airport operator Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL). A total fine of Rs 90 lakh has been imposed on MIAL. Rs 60 lakh by Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) and Rs 30 lakh by DGCA.
DGCA took action when the reply to the show cause notice was not found satisfactory.
DGCA informed, the reply to the show cause notice was received on 17.01.2024 and it was not found satisfactory as the response submitted by MIAL shows that they have failed to comply with the safety requirements prescribed in Air Safety Circular 04 of 2007 .

Video of passengers eating food on the runway went viral

Indigo pilot attacked: Police recorded statements of accused’s wife and other passengers
