Istanbul. Vistara is set to add a total of 10 aircraft to its fleet in the current financial year. During this time the company also plans to recruit more than 1,000 people. A top official of the company gave this information. However, the company has postponed the plan to fly to America. At present, the airline company Vistara has 61 aircraft in its fleet and has more than 5,200 employees. The company is proposed to be merged with Air India. Vistara Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vinod Kannan said during an interview this week that there are talented pilots and crew members available for placement after GoFirst ceases operations.
He said, “Like Air India and Indigo, we also recruited them. We wanted to make sure that we recruited the right people in the right numbers. We are going through a normal process, as any airline would do. We are attracting talented people.” The airline has recruited around 50 pilots from GoFirst. Elaborating on the expansion’s hiring plans, Kannan said the airline would add a total of 10 aircraft to its fleet and would require around 1,000 employees in this fiscal. The Tata Group and Singapore Airlines joint venture Vistara has 61 aircraft in its fleet and all are flying, he said.
