WEF president stresses win-win approach amid growing polarization around the world

World Economic Forum (WEF) President Borge Brand has called for a win-win approach amid growing polarization and fragmentation across the globe. He also hoped that India’s G20 presidency would help the leaders fight climate change. India currently chairs the G20 and is one of the fastest growing major economies in the world. WEF has been closely associated with the country over the years. In an interview with PTI here, Brandt said he was optimistic that an agreement would be reached on tariff rules and cooperation between the major countries and the rest of the world.

He said, I expect that 90 percent of the business that we have today will continue in the future. He hoped for a world order where the emphasis would be on win-win thinking for all. Asked about India’s role in the future, Brandt said there would be a new world order with multiple power centres.
