He has proposed in the budget to increase the amount of Rs 60 lakh to Rs 70 lakh for the next financial year.
Rs 2 lakh to the kin of fishermen under the Matsyajeevi Bandhu scheme
The Finance Minister (Independent Charge) of Bengal also said that if a registered fisherman dies, the government will provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh to his next of kin dependent on him. This amount will be given only once. Chandrima Bhattacharya said that this benefit will be available only to those people who have got their registration done. Financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh will be given under the Matsyajeevi Bandhu scheme.

The Finance Minister gave the biggest good news to the government employees. Chandrima Bhattacharya in her budget speech announced a 3 percent increase in the dearness allowance of government employees. Lakhs of government employees of West Bengal will benefit from this.
