Why are nationalist Hindu organizations silent on attacks on temples abroad?

Organizations boasting of patriotism and Hindutva are surprisingly silent on attacks on temples and other Indian establishments by Khalistan supporters in Canada, Britain and America. This silence of these organizations on foreign efforts to divide the country is beyond comprehension. The organizations which took an aggressive stand regarding the violence during the religious rally in Nuh, did not think it necessary to give any kind of sit-in demonstrations, let alone strict response to the insult of India and the national flag in foreign countries. In such cases, foreign MPs are reacting strongly against their own government. In a new series of attacks abroad, Khalistan supporters have once again challenged the country by attacking a temple in Canada.

Especially in Canada, the activities of anti-India forces are becoming unbridled. If these attacks had been carried out by any Muslim organization instead of the continuous attack on the temple by Khalistan supporters, the so-called patriotic organizations would have raised their heads by now. On the contrary, they are maintaining silence regarding the attacks of Khalistan supporters. Khalistan supporters once again vandalized a Hindu temple in Canada’s British Columbia province. The Khalistanis ransacked the temple and damaged it. After this, while leaving, posters of Khalistan referendum were pasted on the main door of the temple. This entire act of Khalistanis was captured in the CCTV camera installed nearby. Since the beginning of 2023, Hindu temples across Canada have been targeted in a series of incidents ranging from damage to temple idols to objectionable graffiti, burglary and vandalism in nearly half a dozen incidents. The current incident is the third in this year of targeting of Hindu temples in Canada. On January 31, a major Hindu temple was vandalized in Brampton, Canada. Anti-India things were also written on it. There was a lot of resentment among the Indian community living there due to this act of Khalistanis. In April this year itself, a Hindu temple in Ontario, Canada also came under the target of Khalistanis. Anti-India slogans were also written on it. A Gandhi statue was vandalized in Ontario, Canada itself. In the last week of March, a statue of Gandhi inside a university in Burnaby, Canada, was also vandalised. After which a strong objection was raised from India. A few days ago, Khalistan-supporters had tried to damage the consulate as well, raising anti-India slogans.

In July last year, a statue of Mahatma Gandhi at the Vishnu Temple in Richmond Hill in the Greater Toronto Area was vandalised. After which the Indian community had demonstrated. In the past, people of the Indian community protested outside the Indian Embassy against the mischief of Khalistani supporters, after which the Canadian government said that they would rein in anti-India activities. The terror of Khalistanis is increasing in Canada. A parade was held in Brampton to mark the 39th anniversary of Operation Blue Star, with a tableau depicting the assassination of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Then in the past, some posters were seen outside the Indian Embassy on which there were photographs of Indian diplomats and through this it was said to target them. India had strongly objected to these incidents. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar questioned Canada’s silence and said no tough measures were taken as the Justin Trudeau government was playing “vote-bank politics”. The External Affairs Minister warned that India will not hesitate to give a strong response if such elements hamper the sovereignty and security of the country. The shocking thing is that Canadian politicians are sitting with their eyes closed. How Canada is trying to protect the terrorists of Khalistan, it is clearly visible from the statements of the Prime Minister that it is hesitating to take strict action against the terrorists. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau completely denied the growing influence of Khalistan and on the contrary surrounded India in this matter. In his response, PM Trudeau said, ‘They (Indian government) are wrong. We have always taken serious action against terrorism. In the case of Khalistan supporters, like Canada, the attitude of Britain and America is also flexible. The Indian flag was pulled down by the Indian High Commission in London during a protest by pro-Khalistan elements. A group of protesters raised pro-Khalistan slogans while waving separatist Khalistani flags. After this video surfaced, India summoned the British Deputy High Commissioner and sought an explanation on the complete absence of security in this matter. They were reminded of the UK Government’s fundamental obligations under the Vienna Convention. The issue of the attack on the Indian Embassy echoed in the British Parliament as well. British MP Bob Blackman said in the House of Commons that we are still giving shelter to Khalistani terrorists in this country, what decision can we take to ban them completely. Addressing the Leader of the House of Commons, Penny Mordaunt, Bob Blackman said that the hooliganism that took place outside the Indian High Commission by Khalistani hooligans is a complete disgrace to this country. This is the 6th time in as many years that the High Commission has been attacked in this manner. In response, Leader of the House Penny Mordaunt said that we are concerned about the security of the Indian Embassy in London. He said it would be for the police and Crown Prosecution to decide whether warrants and criminal proceedings were warranted. Bob Blackman said similar attacks were carried out in Canada, the US and Australia. We are giving shelter to Khalistani terrorists right now in this country. Can we have a debate during government time on what actions we can take to ban these terrorists from this country. In her response, Penny Mordaunt thanked Bob Blackman for condemning the attack. He assured the House of Commons that the UK government takes the security of the Indian High Commission very seriously.

No matter how proud America is of building friendship and better relations with India, but President Biden’s administration has also never shown strictness in the matter of the activism of anti-India forces on American soil. Khalistan supporters attempted arson at the Indian Consulate in San Francisco, USA. Khalistani radicals set fire to the Indian consulate, but it was quickly extinguished by the San Francisco Fire Department. There was not much damage due to the fire. Khalistan supporters also released a video regarding the incident. US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller shied away from his responsibilities by tweeting a strong condemnation of the alleged vandalism and attempted arson against the Indian Consulate. Earlier, during the protests in America in the month of March, Khalistan supporters raised slogans. The protesters also broke the temporary security cordon put up by the police. Apart from this, two Khalistani flags were put up inside the consulate premises. However, these flags were soon removed by two consulate personnel. The incident was strongly condemned by the Indian government and Indian-Americans. He demanded immediate action against those responsible for this. After Canada, UK and America, Khalistani poison has started spreading in Australia. Australia has been a hotbed of Khalistani activities since the beginning of this year, here too Khalistani posters were pasted on the High Commissioner and Consul General of India, which also had pictures of Indian diplomats. On these posters, these diplomats have been termed as the killers of Khalistani leader Nijjar. The information about the posters has come at a time when India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar told that fellow countries have been requested not to give space to Khalistanis.

Continuity of attacks on temples and Indian establishments in Canada, UK and US shows that at least the Canadian government is not at all serious about such attacks. Due to this, the spirits of separatist elements are increasing. The Indian government’s warning doesn’t seem to have any effect especially on Canada. On the contrary, the Government of Canada is trying to cover up such anti-India activities. It is certain that until the central government does not respond to Canada and other countries in their own language on anti-India incidents, these countries indulging in petty political interests will not take harsh action. The main question is also with the Hinduist organizations of the country, who are concerned about Kashi, Mathura and Nuh, but the attacks on temples and other places abroad and the insult of the tricolor are not even visible. This is why it is imperative to question the pseudo patriotism and loyalty of such organisations.
