Why are some people seen standing in favor of evils like Love Jihad?

If we talk about the Yogi Government of Uttar Pradesh, then after the implementation of the anti-conversion law by the Yogi Government in Uttar Pradesh, there has been a curb on the conversion and love jihad in the state. So far 427 cases have been registered and 833 people have been arrested.

If the identity of a religion is limited to conspiracies like terrorism, love jihad, gaming jihad, religious conversion, jihad against the alleged ‘infidels’, considering other religions to be inferior and inferior to their religion, then the tyrants, intellectuals and followers of that religion It is not only a moral but also a religious responsibility that he should run a public awareness campaign in his society to take his community away from such evils. Throwing ‘mud’ on other religions instead of dealing with such evils can never be rational in any way. Especially in a secular country like India, people with such mentality cannot be accepted at all. The courts and the government do take action against such people, but until such campaigns do not get the cooperation of the common people, everything remains incomplete. There is a famine in the society of such people who have the courage to speak or listen to the truth. That’s why the above type of problems are getting deeper and more serious, that’s why the people engaged in nefarious acts like love jihad, religious conversion in the country are not only high in spirits, but because of their act, these people are like a blot on the face of the civilized society. went. If people of a particular religion dream of Islamizing the majority population of the country and claim to Islamize India completely by 2047, and after that also want that people of other religions should not open their mouth against them, then how can it be? Maybe because every action has a reaction. As seen recently in Uttarakhand, where the resonance of an incident of love jihad reached the Supreme Court.

It is noteworthy that recently some Hindu organizations in Uttarakhand had called a mahapanchayat against Love Jihad in Purola, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind reached the Supreme Court to stop it. But the Supreme Court refused to ban the Mahapanchayat on this writ. The Court advised the petitioner to approach the High Court or the concerned authorities. On the other hand, Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind President Mahmood Asad Madani wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami in this matter. Madani has expressed concern over the incident in Uttarkashi. In his letter, he requested to stop the mahapanchayat. Madani said that if this does not happen, the law and order in Uttarakhand may deteriorate. The question arises as to why the Jamiat chose the path of going to the Supreme Court. Why is he refraining from condemning this incident? How can tricking a girl into changing her religion and name, even taking her away, be justified in the light of Islam and Quran? Thousands of such incidents are happening, but Muslim Maulanas and intellectuals never dare to condemn such incidents. The Pushkar Singh Dhami government of Uttarakhand strictly follows the anti-conversion law, but the Uttarakhand government is not able to show the same speed as the Yogi government.

The Yogi government implemented the anti-conversion law on 27 November 2020. Prior to that, complaints of hundreds of cases of conversion and love jihad were coming in the state. After the law was implemented, the Congress itself had protested the most. The Yogi government kept its attitude strict in this matter, due to which the number of conversion cases in the state has come down significantly today. Till 30 April 2023, 427 cases of conversion were registered. At the same time, 833 people have been arrested. In 185 cases, the victims have confessed to forced conversion before the court. At the same time, 65 cases have been registered for the conversion of minors. Maximum cases of religious conversion have been reported in Bareilly. The people involved in the campaign of conversion had not spared even the disabled.

In UP, the police had busted the racket of converting the disabled. Under this law, to prevent love jihad, a provision has been made for inter-religious marriage couples to inform the district magistrate two months before getting married. After the law came into force, Yogi had made it clear that his government was committed to the safety and respect of daughters. It is to be known that the anti-conversion law is applicable when ever the conversion is done by cheating, luring, forcibly or by any other kind of pressure, after marriage. If conversion or mass conversion of a minor, Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe woman is done, or if conversion is being done only for marriage, then that marriage will be invalid.

In the anti-conversion law, there is a provision of imprisonment of up to 10 years, fine of Rs 15,000 to Rs 50,000 for a person found guilty, depending on the seriousness of the offence. There is a provision of imprisonment of one to five years with a minimum fine of Rs 15,000 for forcible conversion, while there is a provision of three to 10 years of imprisonment for conversion of minors and women from SC and ST communities. For forcible mass conversion, three to 10 years in jail and a fine of Rs 50,000 is imposed.

The sad thing is that it is often seen that instead of opposing the evils imposed on Islam, a large section of Muslims stand with it. At the time of Rajiv Gandhi’s government, the Supreme Court ordered to give alimony to an elderly Muslim woman, then these people created so much ruckus that in order to please the vote bank, the Rajiv Gandhi government had to stop this decision by enacting a law. Similarly, the same attitude is seen at the time of incidents like triple talaq, halala, polygamy, love jihad.
