The survey has been conducted by IIFL Securities in the villages along the Mumbai-Nashik highway in Maharashtra.
According to this survey, the increase in the prices of smartphones has led to a decrease in sales. In this, the best selling phones have fallen in the price level of Rs 10,000-15,000. However, the retail sellers surveyed reported that sales were poor. According to the report, sales were strong in the years 2018 and 2019, but now it has slowed down.

According to the report, especially women in rural areas find it complicated to use smartphones. Villagers prefer to use feature phones because of their low cost, long battery life and voice calls.
