It is preparing to make appropriate regulations in this regard soon, so that two big challenges related to AI – privacy threat and security scare can be efficiently faced.

The Central Government has taken the initiative to frame certain rules and regulations to control Artificial Intelligence. Explaining this, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar said that the government will soon bring new rules regarding the controlled use of artificial intelligence ie AI, so that the government will be able to regulate AI.

He said, the government will frame rules to ensure that it does not harm digital citizens. For this, the discussion with the stakeholders on the Digital India Bill will start in this month i.e. June 2023. At the same time, the new Personal Data Protection Bill will also be presented in the Parliament soon. That is, the chances of its introduction in the winter session are strong.

The Union Minister of State has rightly said that there has been a significant increase in toxicity and crimes on the Internet. But the government will not allow its efforts to harm digital citizens to succeed. At the same time, he also made it clear that at present there is no threat to jobs from AI. AI is meant to improve functioning, but is not capable of handling situations where logic and intelligence are required.

It is noteworthy that 850 million Indians use the Internet, which is expected to reach 1200 million by 2025. In such a situation, the government is cautious about threatening their privacy and fear of security. In this regard, it is also looking into the rules and regulations of its global competitors, so that there is no lacuna in the Indian rules and regulations.

It is worth mentioning that a few days back ChatGPT’s search history was leaked due to a bug, which is being taken as a threat to privacy and it is understood that such a threat will continue. At the same time, AI experts say that the commands given to AI are fixed now, but if there is a disturbance in unmanned AI based defense equipment, then it will be a new challenge, due to which if there is a slight difficulty in overcoming it, there will be a fear of security. At the same time, from the point of view of AI, where existing laws are being used in America and there are plans to make it even more strict. At the same time, a draft is being prepared about AI in China. It has spoken of supporting enterprises in AI model building. Here, the AI ​​Authority in the UK will prepare new guidelines and quickly examine its impact on consumers and businesses. On the other hand, Israel published the draft on AI policy and information has been sought from the departments. At the same time, it is planned to review the Italy AI platform and appoint an expert.

A study has shown that the world’s trust in AI has increased. Due to which, compared to the year 2022, there will be 26.9 percent more expenditure on AI sector worldwide in the year 2023. It is estimated that by the year 2023, the total investment amount in AI sector will exceed $300 billion. Because AI is being considered as the biggest weapon to accelerate economic activities. This is the reason that after America, China, Japan, Britain and Canada, India is making rapid progress in this field and it is on its way to become a new hub in the world of artificial intelligence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself has said that the potential of AI is really huge in boosting India’s tech ecosystem, especially among the youth. That’s why we welcome all collaborations that can accelerate the digital transformation in empowering our citizens. At the same time, NITI Aayog also believes that AI will become the new wheel of the country’s economy. It is estimated that by the year 2035, with the help of AI, the economy will accelerate by 1.35 percent every year. In view of which China will raise 26 percent of its GDP and Britain will raise 10 percent with the help of AI.

At the same time, according to The Brookings Institution of America, India is among the top 10 countries in the world in the field of AI use and research, which is ready to make a quantum leap in this field. He was at number five in terms of investment in this area in 2022. According to him, in the year 2022, the US was at the first position with an investment of $47.36 billion, while China was at the second position with an investment of $13.41 billion. Whereas, the UK remained at the third position with an investment of $4.37 billion, Israel at the fourth position with an investment of $3.24 billion and India at the fifth position with an investment of $3.24 billion.

At the same time, according to the report of the International Data Corporation, an American organization that monitors worldwide technology, the AI ​​software market in India was $ 276.75 million in the year 2020, which will increase to $ 635.88 million by 2025.

IDC 2023 figures show that 7.1 percent of AI is being used in manufacturing, 9.5 percent in manufacturing, 10.4 percent in professional services, 12.8 percent in retail and 13.4 percent in banking, and 46.1 percent in other areas. Experts say that its use has increased from banks to companies providing other financial services. At the same time, to make travel easy and safe, its use has also started in transport services.
