Isha and Akash are twins and their age is 31 years while Anant is 28 years old. Neeta Ambani, who has resigned from the board of Reliance, is 59 years old. With the addition of Isha, Akash and Anant, the average age of Reliance’s board has come down from 64 years to 57 years. The oldest member of the board is KV Kamath. Kamat, former chairman of ICICI Bank, is 75 years old. Reliance has given him the command of the recently listed company Jio Financial Services. The youngest member of the board of Reliance is Anant Ambani who is 28 years old. Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani is 66 years old.

Mukesh Ambani last year cleared the way for his elder son Akash Ambani to become the chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, the country’s largest mobile company.
Companies like Meta and Google also have stake in Jio Platforms. Mukesh Ambani is the head of this company. Reliance Industries Ltd. Jio Platforms is the parent company. Similarly, Akash’s twin sister Isha was given the charge of Reliance’s retail unit and younger son Anant the new energy business. All three have got a place on the board of Reliance Industries for the first time.
The announcement of inducting the new generation on the board is a clear indication that Mukesh Ambani is preparing to hand over the reins to his children in the future. Isha, Akash and Ambani have studied in prestigious universities abroad. He has been groomed in the last few years to lead Reliance’s three big businesses oil and chemical, telecom and retail. Retail and digital services are part of Reliance’s subsidiary companies, while the oil and chemical business is Reliance’s core business. New energy business is also with Reliance. The size of all three is almost equal.

Both Akash and Isha are associated with Reliance’s retail and telecom businesses as directors. While Anant is associated with Renewable Energy and Oil & Chemical business as a Director. Akash and Isha are on the boards of Reliance Retail Ventures Ltd and online retail business Jio Mart and digital unit Jio Platforms Ltd since October 2014. Whereas, Anant has recently been inducted as a director in Reliance Retail Ventures Limited. He is a director in Jio Platforms Limited since May 2020.
