New Delhi, April 11 (Hindustan Reporter) Vistara Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vinod Kannan, in a message sent to the airline’s employees on Thursday, said that now ‘the worst is behind us’ and operations have stabilised.
Kannan said this after Vistara airline faced flight disruptions recently. In a message sent to employees, it said that the concern and frustration felt by our customers is equal to the pain we felt hearing negative comments about our much-loved brand. I assure you that the worst is now behind us and our operations have stabilized with our On-Time Performance (OTP) increasing to 89% as on April 09, 2024.
Kannan said that the beginning of the new financial year 2024-25 has been challenging. The airline faced significant operational disruption from March 31 to April 2. He admitted that things should have been planned better and there was a lot to learn from it. In fact, problems with pilots had forced Tata Group’s subsidiary airline Vistara to temporarily cut capacity by 10 percent, i.e. 25-30 flights per day.
It is noteworthy that at the beginning of the new financial year 2024-25, a large number of pilots of Vistara Airline had gone on leave. According to the report, the main reason for such a large number of pilots going on leave was the new salary structure of the airline, due to which the pilots had become angry. At present the airline has 70 aircraft in its fleet. It is scheduled to operate more than 300 flights per day in the current summer schedule.
